Petroleum Engineering: Leeds or Portsmouth?

Hi!

I am applying to study Petroleum Engineering (BEng). I received 2 conditional offers from
the University of Leeds and from the University of Portsmouth.

I have done a research on the universities and have found some controversial information about them.
Although, it is known, the University of Leeds is undoubtedly better than the University of Portsmouth,
it seems it is not the same with the Petroleum Engineering courses taught there.

I found the overviews of the courses on Unistats https://unistats.direct.gov.uk

The overall satisfaction with the quality of the couse at the University of Leeds is 59% (https://unistats.direct.gov.uk/Subjects/Overview/10007795-H851/).
Meanwhile, the overall satisfaction with the quality of the couse at the University of Portsmouth is 87% (https://unistats.direct.gov.uk/Subjects/Overview/10007155-C2290/).

So, I am quite in doubt now if the University of Leeds is a better option to study Petroleum Engineeting (BEng).

Therefore, having said that, I would like to ask your opinion where it is better to study Petroleum Engineering (Leeds or Portsmouth).

Please, explain me your choice.

Many thanks,

Artur
There is no doubt that the department of petroleum is not too old in Portsmouth but the reputation is good due to some facts.

1. The course is designed by Consultancy of ARAMCO, worlds no.1 Oil Company
2. They have worth millions of pound of software licencing on which they give training or reservoir simulation
3. Leed's course is more chemical engineering related whereas portsmouth's course focuses directly on petroleum side

Hope this helps

No doubt leeds is much better but sometimes the small difference make you think about changing our decisions
