Don't catered students have the deposit fee included in the first term payment? I'm sure it said that in my offer letter, yeah it did say that...

Yeah, it's £50.

Can I just ask what number you rang or where you found what number to ring, because I sent them an email a few days ago with a problem but they haven't replied and I really need to pay soon.

It was just the main accommodation telephone number that is stated on their website under the contact us part

Yup- makes sense now! I think people were worrying because the accommodation teams sent an email out reminding of the upcoming deposit
Just paid all my money in, it would help if they sent something back soon to know they have received it instead of me worrying about sending it to the wrong place

Same here, I did it yesterday and hovered over the confirm button for quite a while, hard to agree to let that much money go.

Ended up writing down the Hour:Minute:s-smilie:econd it was done on a piece of paper.... Just in case.

I did it just this morning after phoning them, I must agree it was hard to see so much of my savings just disappear in a flash but that'll all come back to me quickly enough. Also do you know where it says we can move in either to BGP for a fixed price? I'm not sure its possible for me as I could only got after 2 pm as my mum already has plans I think
Because I made such a large payment online my bank has decided to lock down my account until further notice as they believe someone else has made the transaction instead of me, just what I needed today -.-

Apparently you can move in on the 21st instead of the 22nd if you pay £18. I've read it in a few places but I'm not sure how you go about doing that. I'll have to find out as I'd prefer to move in a day earlier, extra time to settle in and all.

Have you set up a student account with Santander? They sound inconvenient.

Oh very nice, I may do the same but I'll call them up tomorrow to find out the details about it all. Yeah I've set up a student account with Santander as I've always used them and they've been quite reliable for me as well.
Are the Studio's as bad socially as everyone says?
I like socialising with people so being stuck in self contained flats with noone speaking to anyone or predrinking etc sounds like a nightmare

What time are people moving into catered halls? I know you can move in from 9 but are people getting there that early. It's my brother's birthday and he goes to Loughborough so parents want to drop me off as early as possible to go and see him after but I don't want to be the only one there looking stupidly eager.

I'm coming from the north east so it will take me a while to get there but I do aim to be there for around half 1, not too early but not too late!

Not sure if you have to but 22nd would be best considering registration starts on the 23rd.
Maybe you'd be able to get away with the 23rd depending on when your allocated registration slot is.

Should be fine as long as you're there on the 23rd for registration, if you can't make it to registration you have to contact Student Services.

But if you're back on the 22nd you'll be ok I assume.
Does anyone know what insurance is covered with the cost of the accomodation?

IIRC, it covers anything left in your room (you get a form to fill in) and I think you can pay extra to insure your laptop/phone/etc. when you're out of your room.

They also usually do free smartwater marking - so you can take latptops/phones/etc. to get marked in case they do get stolen.
