When I applied for my student loan for my 2nd year (2013/14) I didn't take my household income into account, so just got the average amount I was entitled to for living at home.
After talking about it with my friends they told me they had received a full maintenance grant so they don't have to pay it back. Am I able to go back and change mine so that I can take my household income into account and get a grant instead?

edit: sorry if this is in the wrong bit, there wasn't an option to post in the Student Finance forum

Have you tried doing it through the website?

If not you could always phone them up and explain.

Well, has the maintenance grant already been fully paid by the university to other students? If not, then you should be able to claim. The best thing to do is call the student loan company and make any changes required before contacting the University.

None of the money has been paid yet, my loan and my friends grant is due in September this year, we just applied for it this month. I'm going to try ringing Student Finance to see if they can change it, thanks
