UWE is my firm choice and my course is based at Frenchay, I don't want to stay there as I want to be in the City, that is for certain.

But I am stuck between Marketgate and UNITE building Phoenix court. UWE this year are renting a certain number of flats from UNITE building, but as I missed the Bower Ashton open day (which is when you can see marketgate) I have not seen it and not many pictures online. I really want to come and see it before I choose at the end of the month. Any help please???

    Not sure what you're asking.

Living on Frenchay isn't awful. Access to the centre is rather easy.

But if you must live in the centre:
Unite flats are usually (but not always) crap.

I know quite a few people living in Marketgate. As I understand, it's not exactly 5 stars but it's not awful. So if it was me, I'd rather live on Marketgate than in a Unite flat.

In regards to missing the viewing open day, you can still book a place there anyway. But if you personally want to have a look, all you can do is call them up and ask if there's any chance you can view a room there. They'll typically say yes provided there's an empty room for you to have a look in.

If no places are available, you can always look at managed houses. UWE runs a few houses (Actual houses, not student halls) which they rent out to students. They're scattered all over the city. Most of which are in Fishponds but I'm sure there's a few nearer to the centre.

If you're rolling in cash, you can also have a look at these:

yeah i'm the same, my business course is in frenchay but i want to live in the city so i think i'm going to go to marketgate, the rooms look similar to frenchay and although it looks **** from the outside it's alright inside and has 500+ other undergraduates so should be fine.

was prowling through a facebook page and found a few photos a girl had uploaded of it so just have a look through these and scroll right:

    Hi 06everetta,

My name is Frankie, I work for UNITE.

I noticed your post and thought a response might be helpful - if you'd like to book a viewing at either Marketgate or Phoenix just message me on TSR and I can arrange this for you.

    Hi Frankie,

Yeah my mum and I were going to come down this Saturday, then were told we cannot view either as need to on bower ashton open day, not Frenchay, so we were planning on going anyway so if could arrange a viewing of both accommodations that would be amazing

    Thanks

    Hi 06everetta

I've replied to your direct message.

I've passed your contact details on to our Bristol team and they will get in touch with you to arrange a visit, we have a flat at Phoenix you can have a look around and Marketgate is right next door so we can show you the common room and facilities there too.

If you've got any other questions just let me know and we also now have a UNITE Bristol Facebook page too: www.facebook.com/UNITEBristol

    Thanks,
    Frankie
