In exeter? What subject? (n plz non of that i must protect the blah blah blah of the blah blah thing. If they had the guts to do it (blatant discrimination) then they should be found out.)
i don't hate hot people, i just think this seems kinda wrong... unless the girl was being interviewed for Miss United Kingdom
It was for P.P.E.
Apagg, it's not bull**** lol. The interviewers actually admitted that she hadn't done a good job, but apparently one of them was like, "She'll fit in here, though - let's have her."
It's a well-known fact (i.e. a well-known rumour) that St Catherine's in Cambridge deliberately stopped accepting charismatic students who would do a lot of extracurricular activities, in order to push up their rating in the Thompson table. The result is that Catz is full of geeks, but gets a hell of a lot of firsts.
Wah, I hope not! I'm going to St Catz.. I'd call myself a geek, but more in the 'OMG I love X-Men' kind of way rather than the study-mad type.. I definitely qualify for the 'loads of extra-curricular activities' type (my personal statement became a list of clubs and societies halfway through and I still missed stuff out because I couldn't fit it in), and I stuck novel-writing as one of my hobbies on there, and novel-writing is really quite a full-time hobby.. I still got in.
Why else do Cambridge ask for photos along with the CAF?
They can't place any emphasis on them- I'm far from good looking at the best of times and the photo I sent was absolutely hideous, but I still got an offer. Maybe they need something to amuse them

Yeah, but you're hot though. Being good looking helps you get in. Allegedly.
A better question is: should we be positively discriminating in favour of attractive people? After all, they're currently an underrepresented minority.
