I'm hoping to apply for medicine later this year, and I have a choice of either volunteering abroad (Cameroon) for £150, or I was thinking of London charities such as Centrepoint etc. Which do you think seems more genuine? My family is quite poor, so £150 would be quite a bit, and I think a London charity would give me the same experience. Also, what charities in London would allow a 16-year old play an active role in?
