People say Romanians and Bulgarians will "ruin" the country

Yet the same people have no problem with Africans coming here.

    Why is this.

That's not the argument. The argument is that unlimited numbers of Bulgarians and Romanians will be able to come here. Currently, Africans cannot simply come to Britain they have to apply under a points-based system whereas Romanians and Bulgarians will not and they will have full entitlement to our NHS, schools, jobs market and social housing from 1 January 2014.

    Well said

We need a fair system- no special treatment for EU immigrants

After all the UK has more in common with the commonwealth than some parts of the EU!

The Polish immigrants in the mid noighties did contribute to the rise in British GDP there is no doubt about that. However, the rise in population in some areas was not matched by infrastructure investment, meaning that a strain on housing and health services occurred. We cannot afford infrastructure investment at this time, so while a bit of immigration will be healthy to the economy it may be toxic of they arrive en-masse, as certain areas couldn't cope and most importantly the people will suffer.

Also, democracyforum, as has been said, you must pay attention to the fact that, indeed, as many Bulgarians and Romanians will be able to come as they want (i.e. "unlimited").

Whereas, you cannot have, for example, masses of Angolans and Zimbabweans massing on Britain's borders (not that they want to anyway). This is because no African country is part of the EU. There is no freedom of movement between Africa and the United Kingdom.

The fact of the matter is that, theoretically, after 2014, if 10million Bulgarians and Romanians combined figured out a way to afford getting to Britain (on a one-way trip), those 10 million could freely come in - seriously. But, really, I would like to see what happens if millions suddenly mass on the borders in a very, very short space of time (say months) - that'll be shocking.

But I really don't think that they're dying to coming here - it's not as if there's an abundance of jobs available.

Bulgaria and Romania are VERY different counties ( especially the population). Why everybody put them together?

Yes..... this is part of the EU contract. It was easy before a couple of years... Don't want it, don't sign it.

LOL, the same people put Africa as one too.

They're always mightily shocked when you show them Algeria and then compare it to Angola and tell them - "yes, they are from the same continent, but different countries"

Bear in mind that we aren't opposed to Algerians and Romanians coming here because they're different, but because of the social impacts and the lack of integration.

Well unfortunately it wasn't me running the country at the time of the Maastricht Treaty's ratification for that to occur. Politicians know we don't want to be in the EU; poll after poll emphasises that.

Because this is a nation of cowards and retards and hypocrites who think they can only complain about our fellow Europeans and get away with it.

I don't agree with this analysis because it sounds too contrived.

The reason we don't want millions of Bulgarians/Romanians/Africans coming over here is because we don't want our country turning more Bulgarian/Romanian/African. It's not racist to want your own country with your owns laws/customs/traditions, we realised this with the Empire over 50 years ago, why is it different when a white European country wants seperatism?

Most of them in UK are high skilled workers. And from everything that I have seen in here is that most of the British people are retards, which can moldy in rubbish in their own homes
