    Because they are weak.
They don't want to have to either think about their view or what they are saying. Instead they just spout liberal retort and think they are then claiming some moral high ground.

Left wing people dont use their brains and prefer simple narratives of the world. e.g. evil businesses, racist Europeans, violent men etc etc.

Some lefties find it impossible to understand that the world will never be perfect and that actually the state can't fix our problems and often makes them worse. In general right wing people are more practical and honest about this.

This reminds of an old joke about marxists. A group of marxists are having a discussion about the benefits of socialism vs capitalism. One of the marxists points out all the ways in which capitalism is superior. The other marxists reply "Yes comrade we know it works in practice, but does it work in theory".

The fact is that every country that has tried socialism has had to eventually adapt to capitalism in order to grow economically and reduce poverty. This includes India, China and Brazil.

When it comes to domestic policy I'd say I was left wing, but when it comes to foreign policy I'm the opposite.

You don't get negged and attacked for being on the right economically, you get negged and attacked for your nationalism and general social conservatism.

    Important distinction.

The EU is about free trade, hardly the stuff of Lenin's fantasy.

Also, you may need a bigger platform then an internet forum for students if you hope to achieve this, a good starting point would be a seat in the HoC.
It's more about imposing legislation and regulations which harm economic growth

    We have the WTO

    so don't need a EUSSR

That's just false, there's plenty on the right like myself with plenty of green gems.

This forum is liberal but it is not overwhelmingly marxist or capitalist.

If being left wing is about personal freedoms then I'm left wing. **** the state trying to dictate to grown adults how to live their lives.

I read the Guardian as well as the Telegraph, have i become a raging commie as well? Unlike the Daily Mail the Guardian will at least present the facts even if there is a leftist lean.

Granted the Independent is certainly left (that horrid Owen Jones).

If you really want to find out once and for all then start a poll asking people if they are on the libertarian-left or libertarian-right quadrant of the political compass.

    Amusing.

That's libertarianism. Not left wing. Left wing curtails freedom.

Socialism, if done by the book, is the greatest system in the world...unfortunately, it has been abused and tarnished by the USSR, N Korea etc...
You re insane. Socialism in theory is also the inevitably road to a totalitarian governement, 0% freedom, 0% technological, medical, economic progreess. Tell me whats your education like? Because these can only be the words of a highly unintelligent person
