Hi all I'm an international student, in AS and I want to apply to Bath, Warick, Lancaster, Durham and Edinburgh for Business Management.
    GCSEs: 4A*s 3As 3Bs
I haven't given my AS Levels yet.
Do you think these GCSEs are good enough for the uni/course i want to do?
I have bio, phys, psych and history for as.
Also, i don't have any extra curriculars. Have a couple of certificates of participation but nothing other than that. Will my lack of ECAs get me rejected from these unis?
How many ECAs would you recommend i do? And what kind?

It's not what you do, it's how they're relevant and what you can take away from them. It's the same for work experience. One ECA worth something to your course or lifestyle is going to be better than five which are not.

I doubt you'd be rejected because of it, but they want to see that you're a person with a personality and not a study machine. Sure, they want hard workers, but you need to play well too.

I'm not sure if there are any existing business challenges that you could do, but you could start a project of your own (such as selling things on eBay for a profit?). Speak to your college and talk about things that are going on there and if you could help to organise any events.

Given that your A level subjects don't include business or economics then you *will* have to demonstrate that you understand and are interested in business management outside your studies. That could be as Eddy says above through setting up a project or similar. It could be through doing an extended project, demonstrating and interest in a particular topic through reading, watching documentaries/lectures, research etc, going on a business related field trip/summer school/similar experience, work experience etc etc etc.

Doesn't matter *what* it is but you DO need to demonstrate that you know what B&M study is about, grasp the basics and are interested and capable of studying the subject at university level.

Oh alright!! Thank you so much Eddy and PQ I was a bit unsure about the value of ECAs in the UK because the US holds them about almost equal to the academics.
Also, do you think my GCSEs are good enough for these universities?
