Is anyone doing the Digital Forensic course BSc(Hons) Starting this September please reply

I completed my BSc in forensic computing at Staffs Uni not too long ago. Some of the academics are great and some of the material is great. There are academics who cannot teach very well in the department, I could name them but it would probably get me in trouble.
I an say though, Robert Shaw is a great academic and interacts very well, he cannot be praised enough, however, others cannot.

    The team looks like this:
BSc Digital Forensics Award Leader - Robert Shaw - Superb Academic.
Msc Digital Foreniscs Award Leader (I think he still is) - Hatem Tammam
Biometrics Academic - David Hodgkiss - A great lauch and knows his stuff
Digital Forensics Academic (Primarily Image Analysis) - Dr Pooneh Bagheri Zadeh - Very nice person and knows her information about her specialist field.
Digital Forensics Academic - Dr Stilianos Vidalis - A great person to be with and teaches you stuff as you need to know it.
Digital Forensics Professor - They are currently employing a new person shortly but I do not know who they are yet.

When you are looking at this course remember to look into the content and who is teaching it as I have heard bad things happening on the MSc course in Digital Forensics from my friend who chose the university. I cannot guarantee if the BSc is better but do look into it and who is teaching, and then ask the opinions of the students currently there. You do not want to make the same mistakes as others have by choosing a university on what they say they will deliver to only find out they cannot deliver it because of staff.

The room itself is pretty basic. They have EnCase 6 and 7 but rarely touch on 7. They also have a demo copy of Forensic Toolkit (v1.6). Other tools are in the room but you are not allowed to use any of the hacking tools in the lab as it is against the university policy. I find this ridiculous if they are going to teach hacking and cracking.
They do offer you the chance to do certification but can take their time in doing them. I tried to do my EnCE course which was delayed by an academic by months because they wouldn't answer emails.

Staffs Uni (Stafford) is a great place, the staff I have spoken with are very nice people, bar a few. They need some improvements but overall it isn't a bad place.

    I hope that helps.
