Me and my boyfriend want to go away for a few days in the summer in the UK. We live about near Bristol, so something relatively in the south would be easier. But we're a bit stuck on where to go where there is enough to do....we will both work before going, but of course I dont want it to cost tonnes with transport, accomodation, food and activities etc..
Any ideas on where to go??

I just went to Torquay last weekend with my boyfriend for our anniversary and it was lovely there. We also went to bath fairly recently which we enjoyed, and Stratford-upon-Avon/Warwick castle another weekend.

Camping somewhere near a beach? Maybe South Wales or, as Tiina said, Torquay area? Activities can be beach stuff, walks etc., which are free. Obviously if your not so keen on camping, or the beach etc. this idea doesn't work so well.
Alternatively private rooms in youth hostels (often doubles with en-suites) can be cheaper alternatives to a B&B or hotel if you don't want to camp. Then you can make your own food in the kitchens if you want, which saves on cost.
The visitwales, visitdevon etc. sites are quite good for ideas. or englishriviera.co.uk if you like the look of there.Last edited by Alian; 16-03-2013 at 01:10.

I heard Staines is a lovely neighbourhood.

I recommend Loch Lomond. Its absolutely beautiful and there is plenty to do and see. I go up regularly as I live only 30 miles away and if you do go, make sure you go on one of the cruises! My boyfriend took me on a sunset cruise there last year and you get given free cocktails and the views were gorgeous!
There are loads of country parks, pubs, chippies, restuarants there too.
Its also very near Glasgow so its very easy to reach and travel to other places around from there
You can get some reasonable plane or train tickets up to Scotland so shop about for a good deal!

Anglesey is nice and cheap, though there's not much to do. There's a few historical sights though. It's very relaxed and i'm sure it would be romantic.
