    Say you had pentane which became 2,2-dimethlpropane.
    How do you know that that will be it's product. I know it has to become a branched product, but couldn't it just become 2-methyl butane?

    and the skeletal drawing of 2,2-dimethylpropane is drawn as a x shape. Could you draw it differently like 2 lines meeting into a point with a line through it?

    isomerisation is a type of chemical reaction. You should ask rather, why do reactions happen?

    as for skeletal drawing, you should ask yourself, have you been learning to draw skeletal formulae the scientific accepted way?
