electrochemical potential hydrogen and a metal using alkaline watch

    would it be carried out the same was as an acid, but what would differ in the results? or would it be the same, but the only difference is, is that OH- solution was used instead of H+ ?
    I know that this process is carried out for hydrogen-oxygen is used for fuel cells

    pH does affect cell potentials if that is what you are asking....

    no, I meant when its carried out in with hydrogen gas, a platinum electrode is used and a H+ or OH- solution - what difference does it make which one is used? or is it the same?

    The standard Hydrogen electrode uses 1M H+
