He won because he was the better player over the match
No one knows how he survived the aggression of Verdasco.

Some epic rallies at then end there..anyone still think Andy doesn't have the bottle..?

    Get in Murray!

Verdasco gave that match to him on a silver platter, Murray was weak and passive, and his attitude on court alone, against the top players, would have lost him the match.

Congrats i suppose. Pretty disappointing though, he won because Verdasco took his foot off the pedal in the third though the 4th and 5th were pretty good.
Give over..he was better over 5 sets. End of.

    1) Andrew Castle talks out of his backside
    2) Verdasco lost that for himself, Murray didn't win it
    3) If Murray is going to play like that, bring on the straight sets thrashing by Djokovic in the final (lor even Janowicz in the semis)
    Rep, agree with every point.

Well he wasn't playing the top players, he was playing Verdasco and he was good enough to win

Except he wasn't - just because you win a match doesn't always mean you were the better player. Verdasco took all the risks, was the better player, and lost.

What terrible questioning. Could feel Murray wanting to slap him.

How does the best player on the day not win over 5 sets?

Fiasco well and truly lived up to his nickname in this match. Murray there for the taking in that third set, but Fiasco found a way to lose it. Murray needs to improve fast or he's going to get his arse handed back to him on Friday/Sunday. Pushing the ball back into play and waiting for mistakes will not work against the likes of Djokovic.

..but who, if he manages to beat Janowicz, will he be playing in the final? Oh, yes, that's right, Djokovic or Del Potro, both of whom, based on all of today's performances, would crush him. He wasn't good enough to win, he was good enough to accept victory.

That guy is one of the worst reporters ever. Stupid questions, insensitive, and just a general all round ****. Understandable why Kournikova walked off from one of his interviews.
