Hmmm, how much financial support will you be getting at uni? It might be the case that you won't be able to afford to do it next year.

Personally I'd stay at home with my friends though and try and sign up for a temping agency (basically you call the shots and tell them when you can work and you only have to work as many weeks as you need to)

heya lou, i'd recommend going for the job...

temp agencies can be a real beeatch to work for - the type of jobs are quite restricted - you can wait a VERY long time (my mate only got 2 call outs in about 6 months), and a lot of companies don't like using temp agencies - since they will charge something like 12-13 an hour, and only pay you 5/6 (the companies could save money advertising straight for a temp).

you'd be better off financially with the job, and you can always chill with your mates whenever you have a week off at uni-but 2 months getting exp/meeting people will look really good on a cv.

I have been on so many Eurocamp holidays and they are always great fun. Being a rep looks like hard work (all the cleaning etc!), but its also great experience for you...i know you'd make a good rep!

However this is the summer between two periods in your life (however tacky that sounds). Last summer I kept my saturday job, and did 2 or 3 extra days in the week (i get quite a lot of financial support from my parents, and even my mum told me not to worry about working too much last summer, she told me to have a good time instead and do what i wanted) so i had a bit of money coming in. This is the last summer with your friends...although i didn't go on holiday with my friends we went to the V festival, days out together that kind of thing, and generally enjoyed being young and carefree for a while!

You can always reapply for Eurocamp next year, plus you'll be able to work with them for longer, as you'll finish uni at the beginning of June.

thanks for all your replies... i've decided to turn down the job- i'll only just be old enough to do the job and i'd rather stay at home with my mates do to download festival etc. i will probably re-apply next year. i just really want to spend the summer with my mates and i doubt me and my bf will stay together for uni, so i'd like to spend the summer with him (who knows, we may try the long distance thing  we're kind of avoiding the topic and just seeing how things are for now)

and whoever asked i got the job by applying online and then i went to an interview in cheshire.

i don't know what to do this summer, i finish my exams on the 30th june and have 2 choices:-

    1. Work for eurocamp as a rep in France. pay is not exactly great, but the experience is and i have been offered the job so it is guarenteed emplyment for over 2 months. it's sunny and it does look great on a CV, something a bit different before uni.meet new people etc.
      OR
    2. stay at home with my mates- try and get a job here (my current job doesn't have much in the way of extra hours, but there will be some), go to leeds or download festival, go on holiday with my mates and basically have a summer here with all my mates (and bf if we're still together then) before we all go to uni. i can apply to do eurocamp next year.

what do people think? i really can't decide whether or not to accept this job....*stresses*

the money isn't worth it.... you would never do it for the money. byt the time you pay for food and stuff when you're out there (accomodation and travel is provided) and the nasty tax man takes some, it's really not worth it. i've applying for a catering company where my mate works that does events like the races and old trafford, i can probably earn more with them.
