Hi Everyone, I noticed that TSR doesn't seem to have anything to do with unsigned/under ratted bands and artists.
Although, if there is another thread like this- give me a link and I'll request a mod deletes this one

I think it I'd be good to have a thread where there are a load of good unsigned/underrated artists for everyone to listen to.

    Provide Youtube, Soundcloud ect, links.

I personally think this band is very under-rated.

also, I would prefer if people didn't say things like 'my brothers band are really good, then provide some random name and be like they sometimes do gigs in pubs in east cornwall'... with no link for validate the claim that they are 'really good'.

Here's a song by a band from New York called Conflict in the Sky. They were unsigned and released an EP but they split up a couple of years ago, so there's no new stuff but I thought they could do with a bit of appreciation.

Another guy from New York, I think, who is also unsigned and released an album a couple of years ago that "is a journey into the thoughts and emotions of a "passive explorer," one who is carried through his life without ever truly living it, engaged in the world only through his dreams and unfulfilled aspirations". I think he's got new stuff coming out in the next few months.

One of my friends is Brasc0- search for him on soundcloud if you like thoughtful rappers.
Likely Lads are another relatively unknown band I know doing a tour with the Enemy, you can find them on Spotify, iTunes, Twitter and Facebook. They're an indie band with songs about things relevant to people our age and they always have fun in their songs.

I'll go and find some links...

There's Brasc0's homepage, I haven't listened to it all but what I have heard I've enjoyed.

And there is Likely Lads biggest hit and my personal favourite song of theirs. They are due out some new tracks in the future.

I encountered them on spotify when I was searching for the libertines song of the same name. They really sound like a libertines and arctic monkeys hybrid

    I like them.

The problem for them at the minute is that there is no market for indie bands, the indie kids are now those listening to trap and house and underground RnB, those really successful indie bands still tick along just fine but there is no way you can launch a new one. If we rewound to 2007/8 I'd put money on them being signed and doing pretty well.

That is true, there are so many great bands around- that I keep hearing, on soundcloud, through twitter and then they just never seem to get signed. Most of them die out after about 3 songs- or they just play gigs where they are from, stop uploading ect.

    Woodkid and MS MR

Woodkid's Album The Golden Age is amazing it's a shame that it's only number 19 on iTunes

My personal favorite of the album is the great escape

More people in the UK need to listen to The Gathering. Sick of them not playing here.

M trying to build up a fan base with a couple of mates. We get plenty of paid gigs in our area but the online presence is proving hard to crack. Check out some of my covers if interested http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rdwembQpAs

As a heads up, there's a whole forum dedicated to posting your own stuff here - otherwise the purpose of this thread is kinda defeated. Decent voice on ya though!

Anyway, I'll pitch in with these guys. The covers are good enough, but it's the original songs that really sell it for me. Well worth a listen for acoustic-y stuff.
