    Hi everyone! ♥
    I'd really appreciate some advice.

I'm looking to apply for graphic design and illustration courses through UCAS extra. I like illustrative graphics which is arty and not too clean-cut.

Which design courses have the best reputation?

    Any suggestions are welcome!
I have looked at websites such as Which and the league tables, but I'd like to hear what you have to say.

    ♥ Thank you!

I'm sorry to say but you don't stand much of a chance at getting in the 'best' unis, through extra, as they already have hundreds of people competing for places and have probably given all of theirs away, saying this, there will still be some with places left.

I've personally applied for Graphic Communication and Illustration at Loughborough, they were originally separate courses with good reputation that merged together, and I've never heard a bad thing about the University as a whole, apart from that it's in a small city, which is a plus for me.
Two other good unis that offer a mix of both are Hertfordshire and De Montfort, I haven't personally been to either of these but I've heard good things about them.

Another option is to look into Visual communication courses, they generally allow you to experiment in all types of media, typography, photography, graphic design, illustration, fashion, moving image, animation, etc, and then you are able to specialise in certain areas as you go on. I personally liked Wolverhampton and Leeds college of Art for Vis Com.

Another option is to apply for a foundation course which leads onto the full degree.
