I don't know why some of them were chosen if I'm honest. It's good that he got over his fear though.

Some students in the year above me are going to Kenya this summer to teach English in an orphanage. I might go next year, but at the same time they have to raise the money to go themselves and I really don't see how I would be able to afford it.
In the same vein, is anyone else really disheartened by all the places that make students pay to do work experience?
It's always really expensive as well. London Zoo's 'Zoo Academy' for example costs £550!
I don't blame them, if it's a way for them to make a profit then I'm not going to hold that against them if people are willing to pay, it just feels as if they are profiting from people who are desperate. I suppose in the case of London Zoo it's justified if the money is put towards conservation and such, but they're not the only place to do that.
