Why is my maintenance so low?

First of all, I cannot believe how complicated student finance is!
Apparently I am not going to find out my accommodation until august
Im going to a uni in London and I live in the north
Its says if you dont know your address in term time yet, put down your home address, so I did and as expected it said my maintenance was £5k
then I changed it to a London address and it still says my maintenance is still£5k!!!!!

The maintenance for living in London is £7.5k

And how one earth do you apply for a grant???

The £7.5k loan is the maximum you'll get. IE, given to those who are a few quid off the cut off for the grant. To apply for a grant, you need to supply household income.
