I need help for my dissertation method please! I was really bad at my statistic and methods module I only just passed it so I am really struggling with my method and results section for my study, any help is greatly appreciated!

I am researching the effect of sibling relationships when one child is developmentally disabled. I am doing this via questionnaires with a 5 point likert scale to the parents (their perception of the typical child's interaction with the disabled child). The parent selects from 3 disability types - profound and multiple, severe learning disabilities or autistic spectrum disorder. My hypothesis is having an autistic sibling will be more detrimental to the sibling relationship than the other two disabilities.

Then I am also seeing how gender of child, birth order of children and severity of disorder affect the sibling relationship.

Is this a 2x3 ANOVA design? Or a correlation (to compare autism to other two disabilites)?
I don't understand if it is within or between participants, they are not appointed to separate groups as such but obviously there are 3 separate disabilities groups.
Also my questionnaire has 4 scales; empathy, unkindess, involvement and avoidment. Not sure where this fits in to the design part.

Sorry if I'm not very clear about my study but still I need all the help I can get!

    Thanks in advance!

I have a similar Likert-based questionnaire for my dissertation. I found posting on "Cross Validated" (stats.stackexchange.com) to be very much more clear. (We didn't even get a research methods module!!)
