Feel like this is a bit of a silly question, but I'm currently doing AS physics and was wondering how the ''proper'' way to put the the information in columns down, like if one of the columns was Distance from point, L in metres how would I put this down?

Would it be: Distance from point,l (m) or something else entirely?

You can either put l/m and explain elsewhere what l represents - which is usually best

or put distance from point, l /m - this gives columns headings that are too wide

The / method of showing units is preferable to ().
Have you ever experienced racism/sexism at uni?
