Just bought a new top, wondering what would look best with it? I was thinking of navy chinos and not too sure about what sort of shoes/trainers?

Instead of Navy on Navy (too nautical in my opinion), burgundy/purple/tobacco chinos would definitely work. Shoes wise, I would suggest white vans, white converses or any white trainer. If you go with burgundy/purple chinos, brown desert boots could be worn

Sound advice, I'll get browsing for some burgundy chinos.

Get a good pair of hard denims, cuff 'em and pair with a pair of dark brown desert boots.
    Yes

Navy on navy would be a massacre.

A bright red pair of chinos would definitely be my best bet. The top isn't too strong colour wise so you won't be overdoing it.
Hem those trousers, add some brown shoes and you're in business.

In all honesty though I'm not too hot on the top. I would of stuck a classic striped tee rather than a Hollister branded Henley on which the stripes stop two thirds of the way up.
