OCR A2 Language/Literature Dramatic Voices watch

    • Thread Starter

I've noticed that OCR doesn't seem to be a very popular exam board for combined English, which is rather unfortunate considering those rare few who ARE on OCR are doing different texts!

So, I was wondering if anyone who is sitting this exam can offer tips on how to write astute and sophisticated answers; I've been doing quite well on the essay questions our teacher sets, but the exam often seems quite different - I underachieved a little on the AS exam.

If it helps, the plays are The Revenger's Tragedy by Thomas Middleton, and The Lieutenant of Inishmore by Martin McDonagh, so the main contexts are going to be Jacobean England/The Renaissance and the late 1970s to early 1980s in Ireland, when the IRA were at their peak - of course this is quite flexible, as the signs of political unrest prior to conflicts such as the Irish Civil War stretch back several centuries.

Thanks for anyone who can offer assistance!
