I need help deciding between University of Kent and University of Leeds!

Please help. Academically they seem similar enough so I'm mainly judging location which is more important anyway considering I'm studying abroad for a year. I like that Leeds is in its own big city but Kent to close to London, which is a major draw. I also love how beautiful Kent seems.

    Any insights?

The course is FAR more important than location.

Making a choice on something as flimsy as 'nightlife' or 'distance from London' isnt wise. It is the course that will give you the enthusiasm and interest to keep going through three years of hard study. Having a Year overseas in the middle is irrelevant - if you hate the course at your Home Uni, that wont be enough to get you through.

Check the course options carefully - not just the general 'this is what the course is about' but the detailed individual unit/module description. Look at things like the balance of Lecture/classes, assessment methods (exams? or course work?), Library facilities & opening hours etc etc. These may seem like 'whatever' sort of questions now - but they will make the difference between you enjoying the course and getting a good degree result - and dropping out.
