I often get criticised for being too private.

At work, I get bullied for not telling people about myself. I choose to keep myself to myself, and as a consequence, people make up stories about me to "punish" me, hence my reputation is ruined.

But what did I ever do wrong? Is it wrong to keep myself to myself?

I only involve people I like, and if I don't like someone then why should I tell them that I have a girlfriend etc.? Is that some kind of adult ritual, or something?

Really? I can't call myself private, but, crippling shyness is similar, and everyone forgets I'm there and takes no notice of me?

I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with being private. Sounds like you have horrible co-workers.

I really can't do small talk, and that seems to happen a lot on planet earth so from a general perspective of the majority of the populations talking partners, I'm unsociable. Though I don't see why they are having a go at you for not spreading your life, I hate people who constantly go on and on and on about bull****

I'm similar, but unfortunately small talk is just a part of life. If you don't choose to partake in it lots of people will simply assume that you're rude and dislike you for it. It's unavoidable.
