For various reasons I've now received an electricity bill from EDF for a long period of time - there was a misunderstanding, the bills weren't sent before and now I have one to be paid by tomorrow at £421.
I don't receive my income in over a week and I don't have the money available to pay the full amount now.
I am having the tenant at my flat back home send over the mail I have received with express, so I will receive it Tuesday. That includes a cheque and also my new credit card. So I will be able to pay it Tuesday.

I know that's a few days late, so I'm just wondering, what will happen? Anyone have experience with this?

(Before anyone asks, no I cannot ask anyone else for the money, this is my only option. Family would have to transfer from a foreign account anyway, and it would take days).

Contact EDF and explain that you don't get paid until Tuesday and explain the situation.

They may end up charging you a bit for late payment, but they won't cut you off without sending multiple warnings. Pretty sure you'll be fine, there won't be debt collectors at your door between now and Tuesday, or anything like that.
