Studying French independently

Hey, I am 17 and I'm in 12. I didn't take French for GCSE or A level as i had no interest back then but I kind of met someone and I'm really motivated to learn now so I have been learning by myself for a bit now.
My first question is how successful can i be? I really want/need to get good.

second question is does anyone have some helpful websites and tips/studying techniques that would be useful.

And third question is would i be able to take an AS in French next year without having GCSE if I learn well enough myself this year?

Thank you, any help would be most appreciated  I am really determined

(by the way I haven't been learning long so I am still pretty low level but I'm trying to learn a bit everyday and I have a French person to talk)
