Well you did this in the first step when you rewrote sqrt(x) as x^(1/2) !!!

So How would I put it in the form they are asking? I still can't see it
4. If you just wrote the final line after your last line no one would know you didn't know how to do it.

I don't know why on earth my first post has been negged, but you just do as BabyMaths says: 3/2 = 1 + 1/2 so you split up the bottom exponent into 2 parts and write x^(1/2) as sqrt(x), exactly as you did in reverse when you started the question.
6. Sorry davros. I was trying to see who negged you and did it myself. Can I reverse this?

I don't think so but I've done +5 for you.

Doesn't clicking like undo the effect?

Wow negged for suggesting, low.

Don't worry - I can take it

I negged you, I was testing out your suggestion - I don't think it works.

The idea was to test it out on the one you already negged, not to lower my own rep.
