A2 English Language & Literature C/W Word Count?

Hi guys,

I'm about ready to pass up my c/w. The issue is that it is 2.4k words, when the official limit is 1.5k. Add onto that the 10% tolerance that WJEC allows and my max should be 1.65k. Although clearly mine is well over that.

However my teacher said that anything under 3 and a half pages is fine (which mine is under). He said that he has had students do it before and get away with it and said that if the exam board disputes it, he would be willing to fight my corner. I have tried to cut it down but going any further will be taking away content - I am about as efficient with my word use as can be.

Just wanted a second opinion about it really. Does anyone know what would happen if it was to be rejected by WJEC? I'm aiming to go to uni in September and would hate for my word count to screw up my English grade and fail to get in :/
