I hope to be able to go this year, but i won't find out for a few weeks yet. Any chance of tickets do you think?!

I loved Reading last year, but Glastonbury looks much better than that!

No doubt, you'll be on here around 8pm then!
TBH the new introduction of id'd tickets I think will slow down the sell out time hugely (plus they're only going to be sold from one place - last yr the people at ticketmaster allegedly sold on about 200 of their ticket allocation directly to touts before the lines were opened to everyone else  ).

Even with this I would imagine it will sell out by 8PM on the 2nd of April.

Although because people can't just sell unwanted tickets on (they have to be returned for a refund as each ticket will have a persons name and address on and will have to be shown with ID to gain entry to the festival) I would imagine that over time and as the festival approaches the official sellers will have quite a lot of tickets returned to be resold (although the deadline for returned is May 20th - over a month before the festival).

I will NOT be on here at 8PM - I will be repeatedly hitting refresh on aloud.com while repeatedly hitting redial on my phone (mobile and home phone). It took me 3 hours last time to get my ticket online from aloud - and that was at 9am on a monday morning.

Might come in here for a little celebration once I'v got something though (or to pass the time between redial/refreshes).

If you get tickets take my advice and turn up on the Wednesday - the bands don't start officially until the Friday (at 10:30am  ) but it's worth having a day and a half to get the best campsite, find your bearings and to take in all the shops before the rush starts (especially if it's a muddy year...98 was a long time ago every year there is a real chance it could happen again...and muddy years mean people spending alot of time sticking to the drained/solid walkways which means the crowds are more compressed which means it takes a LONG time to get anywhere (my first year was 97 - tent blew down slept in the car - it was great ))

And of course it's better than Reading - does reading have a caberet tent (last yr I saw bill bailey, mitch benn and about a million other comics), a circus field and a circus tent (not to mention naturists) or even a stone circle a cinema (in 97 watched withnail and I in a tent of muddy bedraggled stoned people  ), a kids field (starring bodger and badger  ) a greenpeace field (I chickened out of going on the 100 foot climbing wall) and camping fields which aren't seperated from the stage areas (I could watch the Other Stage from my tent last yr and had some friends who camped within sight of the Pyramid stage)....not to mention Joe Banana's, Manic Organic, the Tiny Tea Tent, Lost Vagueness (complete with casino, formal dress hire, freak show and chapel), the man selling candle powered steam boats (nr the entrance to the stone circle), and masses of art and sculpture.

Oh god I really cannot wait

It does sound really amazing! Either that or your getting commisson! At the moment I have 2 problems: money  and time, but i guess I can make time for it! Reading is so easy because I live 20 minutes from the site.

It would be great to camp on site, and not have to crush to get back in everyday!

The precautions for illegal sales seem unprecidented! And your only allowed to buy 2 apparently.

Sigh... I hope it works out in my favour, it really does sound great.

I think the real bugger money wise is the fact that sales have to be done by debit card (ie no credit cards). However if money is only likely to be tight short term (ie a few days) you can get an 8 day delay on the April 1st date by paying by cheque essentially you phone up to buy the tickets and get a reference number, then post in the cheque within 5 working days (ie by April 8th) which will then take another 3 days to clear so in theory the money wont leave your account until the 12th/13th April.

If you need a lift I will be buying a car parking ticket and driving up (on my own) on the Wednesday around 10-11am ish from Bournemouth, and then back again on Monday afternoon...I put myself up on liftshare.com last yr but had no takers so this offer is open to anyone who needs a lift and can arrange to be within a reasonable distance of my route. (I need to take my own car in case anything happens at home while I'm away and I have to rush back - Glastonbury is my respite but I'll still be on call)

Can you fit up to 6 of us in?! Thanks for the offer. Much appreciated! The money issue... I've spent all this terms loan (and some of next ), so at the moment I have nothing . So, unless someone clicks a million times on the ads on my site, or sends me a lumpy donation (tax deductable donations sent to me @ uni of exeter!), I'm going to the parents!

We'll see how thing pan out before the 1st. Hopefully, I'll be lucky!

dammit - just went and clicked on some links and one of them killed my browser

And 6 ( !) no - my astra could only hold another 3 at the most (especially considering luggage...even though I buy all my food there (why live off noodles when there's so much choice) I seem to have so much stuff I need a parcel trolley to get it across the site ).

If the worst comes to the worst there's always litter picking for a free ticket
