Going to coffee shops to meet birds Watch

One of my mates met his girlfriend in a coffee shop, which was rather romantic the way it all panned out. Its seems to be more a thing that might possibly occur in a coffee shop, but I don't really think you should make it a hunting ground for meeting girls. At the end of the day they're there to get their coffee, not getting chatted up.

Here's how I'd play it if I were you. Start off really small. Don't start talking to her as soon as you see her but wait to see if she's a regular - then it's easy to segue into conversation.
That sounds like stalking to me

Realistically is there likely to be any problem with this? Surely away from the surly confrontational goings-on of the bar/clubbing circuit, young women in the community would be up for this sort of meeting and greeting? Maybe perhaps they might be willing to discuss the morning papers, that sort of thing.

    Any thoughts?
