was thinking about looking on a running forum but figure I'd try here first, and apologies if this has been posted before. I've recently upped my training to train for a marathon and am having real problems with blisters on the instep of my feet for any distance further than 4 miles. Currently battling through with compeed and keeping up with training but was wondering if there was a more permanent solution or if I need to power through.

If you've not already got them, I found getting proper running socks made a difference to getting blisters.

put loads of vaseline on the areas that suffer, then stick a good pair of running socks on.
Never failed me, ever!

I have this problem too, tried Vaseline, tape, plasters, new trainers etc etc. The ONLY thing that stops them for me is to wear 2 pairs of socks...and special running socks at that (my favourites are from outdoor clothing shops, but specifically for running) the inner pair needs to be tighter/thicker than normal socks. I've not had any new blisters since doing that
