Lol, here's my attempt at a riddle !

My first is at the end of love and second twice within survival.
Third, twice in doom and once in armageddon.
Fourth begins life and ends transcendental.
Next you will find my fifth and sixth consecutively in this utterance.
The next is seen within lots here but not alone until the end.
You will find the last part of me together in gonads and perhaps adaptation.
A process that some refuse to believe and merely cite as a work of fiction.

What is the chest, and what is the treasure?

I shield you from a part of me that can be dangerous, but that part of me can't be touched but can be seen.
The other part of me on its own is for correction, but together with the danger is for protection.
