Weekly student budget (Exeter)

Hi guys!

I've just applied for student finance and am hoping to work out some sort of budget. How much do people generally live on per week (food, socialising etc.)?

I manage on around £30 a week - obviously that depends how much you socialise, I only go clubbing every 2-3 weeks but my mate goes out more and keeps having to ask his parents for (beer) money, I think he's down to about £8.50 for the rest of term but somehow he's coming to Arena on Tuesday lol

hey, where are you originally from? i've looked at your blogs but i'm really curious to hear what you don't like about exeter - or what you would change for future undergrads?

I live up near Birmingham. As such, because a lot of my friends live down south, near London or are international students, I get called "the northerner"....
Sweet idea for a blog post, I'll give that a go in the next few days.x

Self catered - I think my catered friends pay £200 a week at Holland Hall, and just have to pay for lunch. Also the maids are apparently really nice and leave them loo roll and stuff (you get your room cleaned, self catered get a communal Henry Hoover)

Wow £30 and self catered is really good; I thought Exeter was really expensive! I'm either hoping to get Mardon Hall or Lafrowda standard, do you know anything about these or how popular they are? thanks :smile:
Depends on how much you need to drink to have a good night out. I can live on £40 a week but I'm a lightweight.
