I am thinking of taking English literature, sociology, politics and geography. Are these A Levels good enough for an English literature degree at a decent university? Or do I need to change my options?

    Thank You.

    Seems alright to me.

Could you maybe give an example of what you would consider to be a "decent university"?

I've firmed my offer to do English Language and Literature at KCL. I'm currently doing English Literature, History and English Language. I dropped Media Studies at AS. People will advise you not to do both English Lit and Lang, but it was really beneficial for me, both in exams and getting offers. Also, having that additional English Language may help you on A2 Results Day; if your offer was AAA and you got two A*s in Lit and Lang, but a B in your other subject, they might let you in.

I'm not too keen on English language to be honest, I really don't understand some parts of it. Just a plain Literature degree!

tbh if you get the grades, that combination should be fine for any uni.

AS is a really basic overview, and most people find it easier than Literature. A2 is just fascinating. I can't you how many times knowledge from English Language has helped to boost my mark in English Literature.
