My mum just told me she got paid every time she got a job, sometimes £200, sometimes £150, or something, while on benefits, and it wasn't a loan. What are the requirements for getting that? Couldn't find anything about it.

It's closing as of April 1st. It was a back to work grant. You had to be on a certain benefit for at least 26 weeks, including a mix. (so, you could claim income support for 10 weeks and JSA for 16 weeks and be entitled)

Ah ok. I looked it up and had to be claiming before October and the work has to last more than 5 weeks. I did temp work October - January 2013, so never mind.
