The exiled Russian tycoon Boris Berezovsky has been found dead at his home in Surrey.

The circumstances of the death of the 67-year-old - a wanted man in Russia, and an opponent of President Vladimir Putin - are not yet known.

A former Kremlin power-broker whose fortunes declined under Mr Putin, Mr Berezovsky emigrated to the UK in 2000.

Last year, he lost a £3bn ($4.7bn) damages claim against Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich.

Mr Berezovsky claimed he had been intimidated by Mr Abramovich into selling shares in Russian oil giant Sibneft for a "fraction of their true worth".

...Mr Berezovsky survived numerous assassination attempts, including a bomb that decapitated his chauffeur.
    Hmmmm...

Think him surviving the assassinations was about 15ish years ago? The article placed the sentence you put in bold in the middle of where they go on about his life during Boris Yelstin's time in Russia.

Was just playing assassin's creed then I see your thread =p

Perhaps, but this still highlights the precariousness of his position. If Yeltsin tried it, why not Putin or Abramovich?

That was a 100% suicide, there was no need to kill him.

If you read the article, he was a big chum of Yeltsin, he rose to high positions under Yeltsin.

Yeah they've made it longer now. Probably true but I don't think that would preclude someone from being targeted, although I agree that it's unlikely.

Yeltsin didn't try to kill Berezovsky, it had something to do with AvtoVaz, Yeltsin and Berezovsky were great friends and Berezovsky was in with Yeltsin's daughter Lets be honest, Putin has had people taken care of and not 100% about Abramovich.

As for Berezovsky's death, it is sad but it looks like he took his own life and it would make sense, especially as he was more or less broke and had nothing to live for anymore.

There's nothing sad about it. He Raped Russia of it's wealth and lived a life of luxury.

You do know what happens today in Russia right? the exact same, it is sad for a man to die, even if he was an enemy of the Russian state.
