What about the Cold 'War'? That was based more on scaremongering rather than actual fighting. I think the nature of it has gone from a quick battle and a kiss and make up thing (i.e. Sixteenth century ---> nineteenth century) to a ongoing dispute i.e. the Jihad at mo. This is because conflict is hardly ever about prestige and land (Israel Palestine excepted) and more about underlying social differences.(Original post by Tednol)
