    GCSE - 5 A's (including Maths) 3 B's (including English) 1 C and 1 D.

Predicted 5 A*s at A-LEVEL. What are my chances at any Russel Group uni?

    What are you studying?

I presume (since you haven't applied for university yet) that you are Y12. Given that and your average GCSEs, I am very surprised that you are already being predicted 5A*s. What makes you think that these are your predictions (not your targets)?

Definitely, someone I know got offers from 4 Russel Group Uni's (and goes to one now) to do Maths, he had 5 A's, 3 B's and 2 C's, and then got A*A*ABC at A-Level.

Firstly, I'm sure many people would be envious of your GCSEs, so they're not that bad! Secondly, I don't think GCSEs matter that much beyond the standard 5 A*-C grades including Maths and English of most universities, so I wouldn't worry too much, the exception maybe being Oxford.

Secondly, I'm surprised you've got prediction of 5 A*s already, as I'm guessing you haven't actually completed your ASs. Obviously, your teachers must have faith in you (or just be very generous) but remember that predictions aren't the same as actually achieving those grades, so put the work in.

But to sum up, yes, you should have problems getting into a Russell Group, provided you get good AS results and have a good PS/ reference too!

How the heck does that work? How are you predicted 5 A*s at A Level with those GCSE's?

You'll be in for a huge, and I mean HUGE shock when it comes to the real exams at A Levels.

You've misled the people replying because of your first post. Don't just predict yourself 5 A*s at A level.
