Have any of you ever kept a diary of your thoughts? How did it help?

It's really therapeutic and helps to clarify things buzzing round your head. They are also really fun to read later on lol

I do! I like to read it back through sometimes to remind myself if what I've come through!

I used to, dunno where it is now though. I keep a dream diary now instead, tells you what you're really thinking.

Nikki Sixx (from Motley Crue) inspired me to make a diary/journal with his heroin diaries and so I have something of a journal day-to-day thing going on. I also throw in random memories that come into my head, dreams and thoughts/emotions too. I do it so one day i'll look back and hopefully see that I went through a tough time and now (in the future), i'm feeling much happier. Plus it's good for having memories of the people who you may drift a part from and everything too.

I keep an online blog. It helps me see how irrational my thoughts are, because while I'm writing I recognise that someone reading this would probably think I'm crazy. It helps link events to negative feelings, and just explore your feelings so you can deal with them instead of letting it build up. I also find it useful to note the positive things/achievements of that day.
