No, roaccutane is the last step in fighting spots. Firstly its linked to depression, two you have to have your blood checked every 2 months, as it can destroy your liver. I have mild acne and I near enough cure mine with two things when i have an outbreak. First is benzoyl Peroxide (get from doctor on prescription brand name duac) and the second thing is a soap called fresh pharmacy from any lush store. Use the peroxide b4 bed and wash with fresh pharmacy or any soap twice a day no more or less. Then you should be fine.

Failing that get the next step up which is retin-A 0.25%, its pure vitamin A and peals off your skin in small layers. It therefore makes your skin regenerate faster and gets rid of acne scars and stretch marks and even wrinkles. Hope that helps.

If as u say u dont get many spots u dont need to worry fresh pharmacy alone will do the job. But roaccutane is not recommended.

Your GP won't refer you to a dermatologist unless you have a real acne problem. I went on Roaccutane in year 9 for 6 months due to awful acne all over my back. It cleared it up for good, no scarring [but then I refused to scratch].

It is a powerful drug but doesn't have a greater number of side effects than any other strong drug - it's just that the company who making Roaccutane insist on stating every possible side effect, like the leaflet you get given lists dozens and dozens of potential problems one being something awful to do with the kidneys. I asked my dermatologist and she was like "look that's not gonna happen, it's just that the company who make it insist on being thorough".

I did get a little depressed however.

Hmm tricky one, depression materializes in very few, it happened to me and i got it quite bad, and the last thing you want is to be swallowed up with depression over exam time. I'd wait till your exams are over, what's a couple of days, a months wait?

I'd say leave it for now. Roaccutane is generally (in my case it was) only as a last resort, when nothing else works, and its also really used to combat severe acne, not just the odd spot. You say you're doing your AS levels at the moment. If you're stressed, this is likely to bring out spots, so just wait and see how it goes.
accutane is brilliant. my face used to look like the moon's craterous surface but it's pretty good now. i have my blood checked every so often and my liver enzymes are apparently doing well.

however, considering your meager accumulation of spots, i don't reccomend it. it's usually only used for people with cystic acne or severe acne. drink loads and loads of water and get lots of sleep - that should help.

You don't have spots/acne severe enough. Simple, DON'T.

Are you serious? You want to go on a strong, potentially dangerous drug to get rid of two spots?!

Now, I don't want to sound judgemental, but you sound like the kind of person who would consider plastic surgery just because this week's fad was round tipped noses and you had a tiny point on the end of yours. So many people have terrible acne that they can do nothing about, which can have really bad effects on their self confidence etc. You have two spots. Use clearasil and be grateful that you don't have massive pock marks or great volcanic eruptions.
No right-thinking dermatologist would put you on roaccutane for a couple of spots now and then. And it's really not stuff you want to take without medical supervision.
