    point A(0,2) and B(4,8)
    Calculate the coordinates of the centre of the circle which passes through A,B and the origin.

    I know this will involve simultaneous equations but how do I get 2 equations from the data given?

    Useful Fact #3: The perpendicular bisector of a circle's chord passes through the center of the circle.

    May be overcomplicating it though.

    You get 3 equations.
    (x - a)2 + (y - b)2 = r2
    Sub in the points given to this equation as x and y and you'll have three equations.
    (a,b) is the centre of your circle.
    It comes out rather neatly
