Make friends with everyone in your lectures. After like the first week, it kinda gets awkward to introduce yourself plus everyone would be in their friend groups by then. Need to be active!

Clean a bathroom
But yep, get a good group of coursemate friends. It may sound obvious, but it's very easy just to be friends with your flatmates all the time, and only knowing a couple of people on your course!
Be aware that from the beginning of November onwards, people pretty much know who they're going to live with for the next year - yep thats right, not very long at all is it! Don't actively chase or harry people about it, be just be conscious that it's no use being good friends with a load of people, without being great friends with anyone!
