So, I've got a bit of a dilemma.... I've got a conditional from both Glasgow and Edinburgh, and to be honest, I prefer Edinburgh uni (I'm doing vet medicine, and the vet school just seems a lot nicer than Glasgow!). The only problem is, I live in Edinburgh, and I wouldn't be guaranteed halls Staying in halls is one of the things I'm most looking forward to at uni, so getting them is really important to me. I was wondering if anyone on here has applied for accommodation at a uni they lived quite near to? Did you get accommodation? Did you get it by September, or did you have to wait until later on (e.g. December)? I'd be really grateful if someone could calm my worries

I'm in a similar situation - applied for Newcastle yet I live ten miles away from it so I'm not sure what my chances are...
The main reason I want to be in halls is so I can shake off my dependance on my parents at the same time as everyone else!
Kinda defeats the point for me if I don't move in until Christmas and whoever I'm living with already has all their routines set in place...
Let me know how things work out for you, fingers crossed for us both!
