Okay, this is probably the most basic question I can ask but oh well! Could somebody please give me a set definition for 'Organisation Culture?! :colondollar: I just cant get my head around what culture ACTUALLY is all about!

Its just how people behave and act at work. "how things are done around here".
In my house it's part of our culture that I take out the bin.
That's how we do it around our house.

I hope it makes sense.

What have people said about ways of changing culture apart from a new leader?

Here's all i have on the matter, hope anyone can add to it

Four elements to change

Change is the result of dissatisfaction with present strategies.

- Why has this occured?
- What is the dissatisfaction and why has it occured?

Essential to develop a vision for a better alternative

- What is the vision? e.g. Zappos's culture is built on its core values.

It's neccessary to develop strategies to implement change

- Any resistance to change?

There will be resistance to change no matter how little

Incremental changes in a company tend to be with cultural change
- Changes occur over a period of time in incremental steps
e.g. Barclays set out a 5 year plan... led to an increase in performance.

Step change occurs rapidly
e.g Kraft and Cadbury

Theory to include:
Lewins Force Field model -> Use if the question is on change!

Driving forces -> Why does the business have to change?

Restraining forces -> Limiting change or preventing it

hope this helps!

There wouldn't be any Section A examples considering there hasn't been a Section A on Culture before. (I'm pretty sure there hasn't anyway.)

yea all the section a's have been different however culture has been asked on section b before.

june 2012 there was a question on it, it would be good to have a look at it and the mark scheme/examiners report

I'm scared!
I'm going to fail this exam so horribly :frown:

Does anyone have any revision/research tips because I'm really struggling :frown: feeling dead hopeless and I need to get an A in this exam.

Also does anyone have any information on exam technique? I just don't feel like I have a clear idea of what I need to do at all for this exam and I'm really panicking with only a week to go :/

In terms of Eric schmidt's leadership style, wouldnt you say its more of a democratic style? Google have regular meetings with their employees and encourage them to be innovative and put their ideas forward.
