    Hi,

I have multiple offers from some pretty nice universities to read law starting Sep 2013 but I have a problem. One of the universities I really liked has made me an offer, but it's very challenging compared to the others received. Not a problem, challenge is fine, but I wanted to put it as my insurance - it's ruled itself out completely. To explain, I'm doing an Access to Higher Education course and grades are awarded in multiples of Distinction/Merit/Pass - the offer I'm talking about is way above what is normally talked about and is much higher than the offers I've received from elsewhere - from similarly ranked, if not higher, universities. To be honest, when I first signed up for the course I saw people on here mentioning that some unis didn't understand the grading very well, and this ideas has been backed up - when I was choosing universities, some asked me for grades that were not achievable within the course!

I'd really like the option of having the uni as my insurance so worth dropping the university an e-mail?

Unis don't want to be your insurance. They may have offered you higher grades so that you're more likely to put them as firm.

Email and ask if you want, but don't expect them to change it. And if you do email you need a much better reason than "I want you to be my insurance"
