In terms of degrees, I would have said History - at the least, I was particularly aware of it for its 'GCSE Nazi' reputation. I'd say it's fairly well known for history/classics/theology, probably emphasised by the cathedral and cobbled streets.

In terms of the town itself, quite obviously the Cathedral - it's such a central part of everything, it's impossible to ignore. Any documentary, say, interviewing someone from Durham, will inevitably have a shot of the cathedral in it.

The Student Union is known for having an absolutely bizarre building that looks like a bomb shelter.

In geek circles, we've got the most successful Assassins society in the UK; possibly in the world.
Do you agree with the PM's proposal to cut tuition fees for some courses?
