If your aunt earns less than £25,000 you'll get a maintenance loan, and a maintenance grant to live off of - this will be around the £3 - £5k mark in total depending on where you live. You will get paid this in 3 instalments (usually Oct / Jan / April).

Your tuition fee loan will be paid directly to the university.

You should get the full amount for the course, which a lot of the time goes straight to the uni. The maintenance loan will vary depending on the household income and if you are living with a relative or private accommodation. Any additional grants can be gotten, but not for things like shopping, phone bill and that. The process tells you how much you will get as you fill out the details.

Your finance is based on your parents, unless you're classed as independent.
