Hi! Right now I am doing an assignment and I made a diagram. I made the diagram using information from different sources. How should I reference the information? I can't do it in text, because I don't have enough space(word count). Google didn't help=P

In a table, you could have a final column with in-text style references. Otherwise, in diagrams, I think that you have to put references in a figure legend. Does the legend count towards you're word count?

No, it doesn't count. How does a figure legend look like? I can't find any examples.

The text at the bottom here is a figure legend.

I have a similar table(value chain model) with data in it.

    Oh, sorry.

I'm not too sure really. I don't think that you would need to put citations in that figure, I think that should go in the text describing the figure. Also, not everything needs to be cited if it is common knowledge, for example the jobs that the HR manager does.

Ultimately though, I don't know enough about your subject to suggest what needs citing or what in a figure such as that needs explaining in the text.

    BUMP
