    Hi,
I have offers from Cass Actuarial Science and Imperial Maths and Stats. Can someone advise what to do? I am not really into academic and PhD. in Maths does not appeal. I just enjoy working with numbers and would like to have a career in finance related fields.

    Thanks.

Remember that actuarial science and maths are not the same thing. You can transfer between them due to the similarity in fields when you begin your degree, but they diverge as time progresses.

Only go and do actuarial science if you are confident that you want to become an actuary sometime in the future, otherwise go and do maths and stats. That said, the choice of university is really down to you and where you think you'll fit in. I chose Manchester I thought that's where I'd fit and haven't looked back since. Best decision I ever made.

    I hope this helps.

    Darren
